Studying Geography at IGCSE is a fascinating and rewarding experience. Geography students are knowledgeable, skilled and confident individuals. They are able to understand how past societies and environments have developed, providing the context for the present and helping to plan for the future.
The IGCSE Geography curriculum aims to develop lasting knowledge, lifelong skills and practices. When studying Geography, students gain insights into a range of practical, social, economic and environmental issues. In addition, they become skilled in a number of core geographic skills such as planning and carrying out investigations, using specialist equipment, reading and interpreting maps, as well as digital mapping.
The Geography course provides the ‘intellectual glue’ that binds together other disciplines, such as History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Sociology, Economics, Political Science and many others.* This ability to translate knowledge across these disciplines is an incredibly important skill in the 21st Century.

All Geography IGCSE candidates will take Papers 1, 2 and 3. Paper 3 is based on an investigation carried out by the students under teacher supervision. The enquiry is focused on the differences between residential areas of Prague. Please see further details below:
