Theme 1 develops an understanding of the changes in world population, as well as at a regional and local scale. Analysing these population processes gives an insight into our past, present and future. Furthermore, the Settlement unit look at how people have changed places to suit their own needs and the consequences of those changes.
For each unit, you will find a RAG or Personal learning Checklist sheet, a Knowledge Organiser and resources to help you revise. Here is a website with all the necessary information for this unit.
Personal Learning Checklists help students reflect on how much they know about each section of the unit. Each topic is ranked from 5 to 1, where 1 means very little or no understanding of the topic.
Knowledge Organisers (KO) are resources containing all the core content for each topic. Use the KOs in conjunction with the revision techniques outlined in the Revision Techniques in Geography section of the website.
There is also a list of the case studies (examples) that are required to show the application of geographical knowledge. Case studies offer students the opportunity to use place specific knowledge of a place to discuss, analyse or evaluate the geographical process, concept or impact learnt in each unit.
